Treponema Pallidum Antigen for TPHA production
Treponema Pallidum is a spirochate bacterium which causes syphilis. It is one of the few pathogenic bacteria which cannot be cultivated in vitro. We produce two grades of Treponema antigen (Nichols strain) sourced from a historical standard or from the current infection pool for use in the Treponema Pallidum Haemagglutination Assay (TPHA).
AFE can supply a 5-10ml sample of each batch assessment.
Material supplied as two grades.
Grade 1 - material is graded early in the process, grade one material is devoid of non-treponeme material.
Grade 2 - material is non graded and contains background debris (immunological cellular response).
Material supplied at the concentration of 6 x 108 ml in Phosphate buffered saline with 0.1% azide. Certificate of analysis supplied with each batch.
